Team CoachingAn example of a team coaching project was with a Executive Director of a non profit and her management team. The E.D. not had a stable management team in place for six years, which made it difficult for her and the team members to work smoothly together. Staff turnover and internal reorganization of management meant that people were new to the organization or new to their redesigned roles. The E.D.
realized she needed to have several facilitated meetings with her and her team. Her stated outcomes were: the team members should get to know each other, establish a method that would produce a collaborative team environment and for each job function to work smoothly together in carrying out the teams goals. We met monthly over 6 months and coached the group to developing the following: team norms for working together and how to give each other feedback, a process for solving conflicts, a decision making process, a process for communicating information. The E.D. was coached to lead the team meetings and eventually do the facilitation. The results were seen in increased productivity and less time spent on conflicts. |
Testimonial"Our team was going through a time of overwork and critical deadlines. The pressure was causing conflicts and the "blame game". Carole was able to create a safe atmosphere to air of disputes and problem-solve. Her coaching and facilitation supported us to come together as a team"
